Every class of CIMAT has one academic cell. It consists of five students of the class, class tutor, co-coordinator and the principal. Its aim is to encourage feedback from the students to the faculty regarding their difficulties if any, in their academic activities and also suggestions for improvement in the academic infrastructure. Normally the academic cell meets once in a month
  For a group of 15-20 students, a faculty is identified as their mentor. Students are advised and assisted in solving any of their problems both academic and non-academic. Mentor follows up the progress of the students, maintains students profile and guides them to make improvements in their performance. The mentor recommends leave, OD etc. The mentor meets his wards regularly and arranges any help needed with the advice of the principal.
