The primary mission of the CIMAT Library is to provide information services and access to bibliographic and full-text digital and printed resources in the field of Management Sciences to the educational and informational needs of the users. It also supports the academic and research program of the institute by providing physical and intellectual access to information consistent with its current and anticipated educational and research programs. To the institute’s objectives, the library offers a wide range of current, accurate, and authoritative information from a vast selection of print and electronic resources using state-of-the-art technology.
The total area of the library is 600 sq. mt. Spacious with 70 seating capacity and highly well- stocked functioning from 9.00 AM. to 4.00 PM all college working days, the library is regularly updated with the latest journals and newsletters. Besides the comfortable seating and reading environment, the library is well equipped with modern facilities such as access to the internet and web resources, including online journals. The library provides a growing range of databases available in electronic form on the campus network. All the library services are automated. The library has fully computerized its collection, which could be accessible through OPAC. It also provides access to online databases like Bloomberg. Its services are subscribed to by working professionals too. The library has all the facilities for the students to learn. The CIMAT Library is committed to providing world-class information support to its users.
CIMAT Library is mainly committed to providing physical and virtual access to books, journals, and other materials to the Students and Faculty. The collection of CIMAT Library in the area of Management Sciences is solid. The collection comprises books, a thesis, current journals, back volumes of periodicals, CDs, online databases, and journals. The group is used by the Faculty, Students, and Research Scholars. The library is also equipped with E-Journals, and DELNET access for the users. The students can also access the question banks.
The housekeeping operations of the CIMAT Library are fully automated with in-house AVEON software with Barcode applications. All library holdings have been digitized, and users can search the library database using OPAC.
Students& Faculty
Students / Faculty joining the CIMAT are directly enrolled as a member of the CIMAT library during the study/ work period. The following is the book borrowing eligibility of the students & faculty.

Alumni are permitted to refer to books & journals on the production of a recommendation letter from the head of the institution.
CIMAT library offers services such as circulation Service References Services Reprographic Services Users Guiding Services (Orientation to fresher), Display of New Arrivals Document Delivery Service / Inter-Library Loan through DELNET On-line and Off-line literature search Services, etc.
10 Mbps Broad Band Internet connections are provided to enhance classroom study and access electronic resources. 10 computer systems are available in the digital library to access the internet. Internet will be available to the students and faculty from 8.00 a.m to 4:00 p.m on all days.
CIMAT Library subscribes to online journals and E–Books. E-Books and E-Journals support students' and faculty’s learning and research needs. In addition, a unique collection of useful standalone online journals and e-books free on the internet are made available to the users on the campus.
It offers access to a set of question papers on all the courses Bharathiar University offers. This E-Question Bank database comprises old question papers in all subjects from 1996 till date. These are categorized as Post Graduate courses.
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It has been actively engaged with the compilation of various Union Catalogues of the resources available in member libraries. It has already created the Union Catalogue of Books, Union List of Current Periodicals, Union Catalogue of Periodicals, CD-ROM Database, Database of Indian Specialists, Database of Periodical Articles, Union List of Video Recordings, Urdu Manuscripts’ Database, Database of Theses and Dissertations, sample databases of language publications using GIST technology and several other databases.
The library will be kept open from 8.30a.m to 4.30p.m on all working days.
Strict silence shall be observed in and around the library.
All the students must become members of the College Library.
Library card is compulsory for all transactions.
Personal belongings are not permitted inside the library;
Mobile phones and other devices should be in silent mode.
Laptops may be used inside the libraries (without any audio).
Library books should be handled with utmost care.
Marking or any kind of scribbling on pages or folding of the page is strictly prohibited.
The loan period will be 15 days for students and 90 days for staff.
The books should be returned on or before the due date failing which,
In case of loss of any text, the borrower has to replace the identical Edition of the book.
Reference books, journals, back volumes, project reports, etc., will not be issued to any users.
Users are allowed to take photocopies of the required articles.
Photocopying of the full – book is not permitted due to copyright issues.
Entries are to be made in the library’s records for e- resources.
Accessing unwanted and unnecessary information is strictly prohibited.
The Librarian reserves the right to recall any book at any time.
Every student will be issued 6 Library Cards. The cards are not interchangeable.
Mishandling or damage to the books will invite a penalty.
A fine of Rs1/- per book per day will be levied.
Please replace it to avoid inviting a penalty of twice the cost of the book.
Downloading of the information is also permitted.
